For those of you who may be new to building websites, or using WordPress, there is a little known feature that does affect your ability to share your fabulous content via social media – Facebook, in particular. I refer to him as “Bubble Man.” And, I’m pretty sure you’ve seen him around…
If you are a member of Wealthy Affiliate, or you are learning how to use WordPress and building a blog, you will, undoubtedly, run into this guy. Fortunately, for newbies anyway, I ran into him about nine months, or so, ago when I first joined Wealthy Affiliate, and I wrote my first blog post about “Getting Rid Of Bubbleman!“
I was happy! I was doing my happy dance! I thought I had solved the problem, and all was well… when last night, I ran into him again! …cue the Jaws music… He is STILL LURKING around my website! So, I set out on yet another mission to Get Rid of Bubbleman once and for all.
Unfortunately, after staying up the entire night to “do the deed,” I had to call it quits… for now, anyway. You can read about my “mission” from last night (or early this morning, depending on your preferred time reference) here: Facebook’s Social Share Image: Getting Rid of Bubbleman – Part 2.
So, what have I learned, and why am I sharing this?
Well, there are times where we bloggers may run into little technical glitches that do cause problems. I suppose this is just part of the ongoing technology thing because, when you think of it on a larger scale, all these programs, apps, themes, social share plug-ins, scripts, etc., otherwise known as “code,” has to be intuitive enough to learn, cope, and/or work with each other in order for it all to “work.” That’s a pretty tall order, when you think of all the programmers and developers out there. And, might I add, that’s an ongoing “tall order” as well.
So, what’s the good news?
Well, the good news is that we, those who write and blog, need to know that whatever the “glitch,” it did not necessarily originate with you! You may not have done “anything wrong!” And, that’s actually one of the great things about Wealthy Affiliate too! We get to share experiences, glitches, and learning curves. We get to pose questions, research the forum or direct message each other to help each other find solutions to our little glitches in life and in our blogging life. Here’s to Wealthy Affiliate! And, here’s to you too – should you join!
