DID I CATCH YOUR ATTENTION?
I’m sorry. I apologize straight out. This was a misleading Title, and I’m sorry, but …not sorry. 🙂 ..and here’s why…
Misleading & Deceptive Practices
Well, here is yet another misleading “Work From Home” opportunity that I’d like to warn you about before you plunk down some honest cold hard cash.
There are many – many misleading sites that are using very effective marketing, advertising, paid ads, media sites, well-known names or personalities along with generic and honest television personalities who are only talking about “working at home”opportunities. But, there are also some companies who are using editing software to seamlessly integrate actual news clips and generic videos with fake owners, fake testimonials, and fake claims to try to convince you, and others like you, to fork over some cash for educational courses being offered. In this case, and for the purposes of this article, I have a problem with “The Work At Home Institute” aka, WAHedu.com.
And, while yes, educational services are a viable service, the fact that some of these companies use misleading “advertorials” and paid Google Ads that claim “$3200 a WEEK,” or thereabouts, to push a product based on deception is just wrong. In short, I’m here to tell you that If a product is good, there really is no need to deceive or even try to deceive.
As a member of Wealthy Affiliate, and an affiliate marketer myself, we are encouraged to find products and services to review. So, ok, I came to a point in my lesson where I needed to do another “review” for my blog. And, here’s what I did:
I went to Google, and I input the search term “Moms Working At Home Online.” I began looking over the search results, and I actually recognized a few members of Wealthy Affiliate. I thought, well, that’s good. It seems they have this keyword phrase covered in the natural search results. But, then I glanced at the Google Ads, and there they were… …cue the Jaws music…

So, I clicked on the first one, the one that states “Work At home $3200/Week.” I figured, well, that would be a good income – assuming I were a newbie and didn’t know any better. That ad took me to a site – a very misleading site.
But, there is some good news! They have, at the very least, provided the legal statements at the bottom albeit in very small and very light print that this page is an “Advertorial Page.”
So, why is that important?
Because they are telling you that the whole page is made up, that you should not take it “literally,” and that those who think they will earn this kind of money from purchasing their product are just plain “wrong.”
In fact, why believe me? Here is a screen shot of that portion of that page, below, or you can just go to that site and read the bottom yourself as the picture is not too readable. Here’s the URL to that page (as of 2/16/2016): Click Advertorial Page Here
My guess is that someone complained and the “company” likely received some sort of warning. So, they are, pretty much, covering their “assets,” so to speak – which is good news, actually, because it forced them to put in the legal notice that appears at the bottom.
But, I still wanted to write about this “opportunity,” because of the method they are using to bring in leads for either their “educational” product, or their “coaching program” which is also mentioned in that fine print at the bottom. And, I still have a problem with what they are doing to “entice” unsuspecting people who do wish to work at home.
Now, of course, I do believe in the old adage “Let The Buyer Beware.” But, seriously, if a company is really offering a valid way to work at home, why do they need to be so deceiving? We all know that, in today’s day and age, many people do not “have” the time, never mind, “take” the time to “read the fine print.” But, they really should, especially when searching for opportunities online. And, that warning is the basic reason for this article.
I’m here to tell you to not only do your research, but to read and take in “all” that is there on the website. Take note of the “Official Seals,” if any. Do they pop up when you click them? Are they providing actual information that you can check? Do their testimonials seem a bit too light, to “nice,” too generic? Are they dated on or all near the same day? Do they use well-known personalities, media companies, or “as seen on TV” type of claims. Do they have other links on the page – that all go to the same video or same enticing page of information? Read and take it ALL in – especially any fine print or links on the page that may lead to further information about what you’re reading.
As for this specific product, the “Work At Home Institute” aka WAHedu.com site, this product is very much like another product which I recently wrote about. They may actually be from the same company or people because they have many similarities. These sites are all targeting moms, and/or those who wish to “work at home,” specifically. You can read about each of these Reviews here:
And, here’s another article I wrote about helping to spot the SCAMS.
That last article also lists some ways to deal with those who may have misled you into forking over some cash or information that you probably shouldn’t have.
In Summary:
Yes, I misled you into clicking on this article with that enticing title and amount of money which I “stole” from a Google Ad. But, the good thing is, I am not here to con you out of any money. I’m only trying to warn you.
To Your Wealth!
