First things first – I’d like to apologize for the delay. As you may recall in my 1st Quarter post, I talked about how there are many variables that go into blogging. Sometimes, things happen that we cannot control, but they do affect our time spent writing. This time, I was distracted, to say the least, with a family member who experienced health related issues. All is good now, so I really must catch up. In this article, however, I would like to provide a brief status update regarding my 2nd Quarter earnings.
In the 1st Quarter, 2016, the breakdown was as follows:
Updated As Of March 31st, 2016:
- Cafe Press: $178.04
- Wealthy Affiliate: $21.00
- Amazon: $0.00
- Google AdSense: $65.80
- SunFrog: 21.56
- ClickBank: $0.00
- Printables: $7.35
Actual 1st Qtr. Total As Of March 31, 2016: $293.75
The 2nd Quarter (April, May, and June 2016), the breakdown is as follows:
- Cafe Press: $264.73
- Wealthy Affiliate: $75.50
- *Amazon: $0.00
- **Google AdSense: $427.76
- SunFrog: 63.29
- ClickBank: $0.00
- Printables: $14.70
- ***Tran Group: $12.00
Actual 2nd Qtr. Total: $857.98
At you can see, my 2nd quarter was more profitable than the 1st, and, at the very least, I’m headed in the right direction. But, I will be addressing the asterisks and the associated income source as there are other issues affecting my efforts to improve profits.
*Amazon: This remains at zero. Although I have a few “mini” sites up and running, they have been ineffective in bringing in any money. One of my mini sites, Motivational Gifts and Ideas, was patterned after the technique shared by The Lazy Ass Stoner (an actual real person… comical and/or constantly stoned). Unless I’ve done something wrong, this mini site gets a small amount of traffic, but zero sales so far. I do have a few other mini-niche sites up and running, but they are using a program that I am actually reviewing for this blog. I hope to report soon on those two different programs, and I will also report generating income, if any.
**Google AdSense: Well, I “was” going along nicely, and I expected earnings to reach at least $200.00 a month from ads alone. But, a noticeable drop had occurred in June – both in my traffic and my ad earnings. (They are directly related, so, it’s no wonder really.) Anyway, I noticed a drop, and I began searching online for some answers.
Apparently, Google did “something” to change “something” that affected many sites. So, by researching, I established that the drop didn’t occur from something I may have done, it was something Google has done that likely affected my ranking in the search engines. This change would definitely affect my traffic… and therefore, my ad earnings. Unfortunately, I don’t know what that change was. I can only continue to try to find more articles posted about what others are experiencing, and I will continue to write good content.
ClickBank: This source bears mentioning because I obviously haven’t used it much. The earnings are still zero. Unfortunately, many of the ClickBank products, so far anyway, are designed to use in an e-mail list. And, although I haven’t ruled it out completely, I don’t use my email list for this reason. I believe I have only emailed my list twice with offers that are related to business opportunities, but, generally speaking, my email list is emailed when a new article appears on this blog. Right now, it’s set to send early on Sunday mornings, and I will be changing that to a week-day sometime soon. However, I have been thinking about this because of ClickBank and the products that encourage emailing opportunities.
If I do begin to use my email list to share more opportunities in the future, I will “probably” notify my readers that I will split the sign-ups into two lists. I know there are some people who may not want business opportunities to be sent to them. They may only want an update on my blog. So, those who want biz opps to be sent as soon as I get them can join one list, and those who just want an email from me once a week notifying them of a new article or two on my blog will only be emailed that one time per week. This is not set up right now, so if you do join the email list on this blog, right now, you will only receive one email a week until I notify otherwise about a split.
And, last, but not least…
Oops?!!
The Tran Group: Well, this is really embarrassing… actually. But, it will serve as a reminder to me and a good lesson for newbies who are just starting out as an affiliate marketer. Here’s the thing…
I have no idea who “The Tran Group” is, and I don’t know how or where I earned $12.00 from this source….
There, I said it.
(Status Update: July 7th, 2016, I found the vendor who is paying me. This is a product from JVZoo which will be reported correctly in future Quarterly Reports.)
Yes, I’ve been building, reading, researching, and writing.. but, organizing? ….not so much.
So, I will be researching, probably from other members over at WA, to see how they have organized their many sources of income from different affiliate sites along with all of their affiliate links. I’m thinking of setting up an Excel sheet unless I find something better. There has to be a simple way to do this – right? ..I sure hope so. In any case, I have to continue searching for this Tran Group, so that I can improve upon the link, wherever that may be, and increase that amount even more! Because – remember – the goal is Multiple Sources of Passive Income!
Affiliate Marketing Earnings Summary
Well, as you can see, my profit for this quarter is over $850.00, and seeing that a larger portion came from Google before some sort of change in their algorithm, it is unlikely that I will achieve that amount from Google again until I figure out what happened. But, as mentioned, I’ll keep researching to find the cause, and how to rectify it sooner rather than later.
My Affiliate Marketing Efforts Running Total for the year, as of June 30, 2016, is: $1,151.73, and just as a reminder, my efforts have not been full-time. So, with that stated, I conclude my Affiliate Marketing Success Post: Status Update for the 2nd Quarter!
